Description:
This beautiful antique brooch features a slab of mother of pearl hand-painted with a depiction of a woman holding a cat. The painter's technique imparts a mysterious, smoky quality to the piece, yet allows the mother of pearl to shine through especially highlighting the cat's face and gold cuff of the woman's sleeve. The paint is richly colored and applied in thick layers that provide great eye-catching texture.
All set in a frame crafted of solid 14k yellow gold with ornate details on either side. The pin and mechanism are all original. A gorgeous period piece for any collector of vintage or antique accessories!
